Ramdev Baba has gone berserk, says Lalu
PATNA: Once an admirer of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, RJD chief Lalu Prasad has now turned his critic for trying to dabble in politics.
"Ramdev Baba Bauwra Gaye Hain (Ramdev Baba has gone berserk). He is criticizing every politician in the country. I have advised him against joining politics. We once saved him or else he would have been beaten up," Lalu remarked while speaking at the meeting of Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs) organized by party leader Ram Badan Rai here on Wednesday.
Lalu was apparently referring to the strong support he had extended as railway minister to the Yoga Guru when the latter was attacked by CPM leader Brinda Karat who had alleged that animal bones were being mixed with the ayurvedic medicine produced by Patanjali Yogapeeth, the institution established by Ramdev at Haridwar.

Lalu had stressed that even if human bones were mixed with medicines, it was justified as they proved to be effective in curing people.
Lalu, during his speech, questioned the healing claims made by Ramdev. "Generally, the Babas keep agents in the crowd. They ask the agents if their cancer has been cured and the agents reply in affirmative. The entire world has so far failed to procure a medicine to cure cancer. But these Babas claim that they have defeated cancer," Lalu remarked. Incidentally, the Yoga Guru and RJD chief had been mutual admirers and Lalu praised the Yoga Guru for teaching him `aasans' which cured his high blood pressure and blood sugar. Baba Ramdev had also praised Lalu for doing `hasya (laughing) aasan' frequently and keeping himself healthy.
Lalu also took digs at chief minister Nitish Kumar for holding the Bihar Diwas functions. "Nitish Kumar should have held the Daaru (liquor) Diwas instead as his government has given licence to people to open as many as 15 liquor shops under a panchayat," he remarked, stressing that Nitish will not voted in the coming assembly polls. "Members of Nitish cabinet keep talking about 15 years of Lalu Raj. During the last five years there has hardly been a caste in Bihar which has not been victimized," he remarked. He referred to the alleged irregularities in the implementation of Narega. "The Narega money is being given to contractors who get the work done by machines. I will get the whole thing investigated when the RJD returns to power," he remarked. He said that now when it was time for Nitish to go, he was making all sorts of promises to the people.
Lalu warned the Congress against using strong arm tactics while introducing the Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. "If they throw me out of the House, the Congress will be thrown out of power from the Centre," he stressed. Lalu recounted the work he had done for the EBCs and stressed that all groups promoting social justice should remain united.
